Why hello! I’m happy to share a little bit of my story with you about how I became Tyson The Actor. It’s ongoing but I’ll do my best.
The definitive moment was during a summer class trip to Ireland back in 2009, which, as a native Oregonian, was amazing because it reminded me of home in a lot of ways. It was for a theater class and I was getting ready to enter my third year at Cal State Long Beach at the time. I had no general direction of what to do with school but I knew I always loved movies and the idea of performing, but I just wasn’t believing in myself. That class and the instructors helped me realize that even though I had a lot of self doubts I needed to pursue what I wanted. Upon coming back for the Fall semester I changed majors and got my degree in Theater Arts.
Upon graduation I’ve been a continual student by learning while crafting. I spent a year acting in a two man sketch team called “Shorts On Shorts” with my good friend Daniel Eachus, a fantastic comedian in his own right. I starred in and co-directed the short film “No Good Burglar”, which went on to be accepted into the Mammoth Film Festival and the Hollywood Comedy Shorts Festival as well as being picked up by the cable channel ShortsTV. I also trained in improv at The Second City in Hollywood by going through their core program.
To date one of my favorite accomplishments was being cast in the feature film “Space Waves” in a prominent supporting role as the character Duke. I got to work on location in Grass Valley, Ca (yeah, I didn’t know where it was either) with an amazing crew of up and coming filmmakers.
Well, that’s about all for now, although not for good, as the story just keeps on developing. Thank you for stopping by with much love from Tyson that Actor Guy!
